''We returned to Lake Charles two days after Rita savaged Southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana. With generator, fuel and food, the wine was secured and in a safe, cool and clean environment. In the meantime, all the coolers and freezers have been emptied, scrubbed and cleaned. A leak in the roof has required the carpet to be removed, and upon the arrival of our insurance adjustor (scheduled October 13th), we hope to make rapid progress with the necessary repairs.'' ''It is impractical to set a time frame for re-opening, since so much hinges upon our contractor, who will also be working on other projects at the same time. However, he is anxious to enjoy our food, service and atmosphere, so we hope this will motivate him to expedite our needed repairs.''
